Blog Choosing the right interior design style for your shop When it comes to shops, appearance is everything. It's what initially draws the customer in. A fitting interior design style that matches a shop's products is very important in attracting customers. There are a number of interior design styles to choose from, and at AK Shopfitting we can help you narrow down your options and find the perfect style for your shop. Here are the main interior design styles used in shops: Contemporary This style has to do with whatever is fashionable in the interior design industry at the present time. It makes a good impression and attracts customers but may need refurbishing more regularly than other styles to keep up with changing fashion trends. Minimalist This simple style uses clean lines and minimal decor, very few colours and streamlined furniture. It is a great way to style your shop without overspending, as you only require the minimum amount of furniture and accessories. The downside is that some people find this design style cold and uninviting. Shabby chic This is a cosy interior design style that tends to draw the most customers. It gives the impression of a feel-good atmosphere and makes shopping enjoyable. However, it's easy to get carried away and let your store become cluttered, so take care not to place too many similar decorative items and trinkets close together. Industrial The industrial interior design style is used in many coffee houses because, when done right, it can be incredibly relaxing. Accomplishing the perfect combination of concrete, brick, metal and wood can make customers never want to leave. Classic This design style is incredibly luxurious if put together well. Carved wood, tufted furniture and damask tapestry are so beautiful when balanced perfectly. It's easy to go overboard with too many decorative items or too many colours, so care must be taken otherwise it will look tired. Fabrics in colours such as duck-egg blue, ivory, gold, and red wonderfully compliment the classic style. Back to Blog
