Blog Wood flooring options: pros and cons When choosing a new design or updated palette for a store, one part of the redesign that's easily overlooked - or left to the last minute - is flooring. A perfectly matching floor can be the ideal accent to any decor, and something that doesn't quite fit can result in a design that's less ambient and an atmosphere that is more awkward for customers and staff alike. There are many types and forms of wood and wood effect floors to choose from. Here are some of our favourite options that can be used to add impact to any shop: Light and bright An excellent solution for stores with a modern feel, or those that are a little bit smaller in size, a bright beech-style wooden floor can add depth, light and a contemporary air to a store. However, due to the nature of lighter styles, if you experience heavy traffic you might find your floors showing scuffs and marks quicker than a darker option, so consider that before making your decision. Vintage feel Many stores are opting for a driftwood/vintage flooring feel to their stores, which adds ambience and sets the scene. Particularly popular with more laid-back store fittings, these floors are low maintenance and high impact. However, combined with the wrong type of decor they can look shabby, especially against high gloss and more pure tones. If you're looking for luxury, vintage wooden flooring might not be correct for you. Perfectly painted True versatility in your store can be easy to attain with painted floorboards. Anything from glossy white through to stained black can offer a different feel to a store. This choice is ideal for a more creative decor style and affords more customisation options from multiple colours through to designs and patterns to attract customers inside. Painted floorboards require a little more upkeep from scuffing and fading, but are worth the effort. Looking to upgrade the flooring in your store, or even thinking of doing a full overhaul?
