Importance of health and safety
Health and Safety is extremely important within the construction industry. Safe working practices are essential. At AK Shopfitting, we fully understand our responsibilities with regards to health and safety. It is our company policy to ensure that health and safety considerations always have a high priority to ensure the safety of our employees, contractors, visitors and members of the public.
About us
CHAS and Safe Contractor accredited
As a company we have achieved accreditation within the Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) and Safe Contractor. As a result, all our site managers possess the following qualifications:
- Site Management Safety Training Scheme qualification (SMSTS)
- PAMS training for the safe assembly and inspection of tower scaffolds
- IPAF ticket enabling the use of mobile elevated working platforms i.e. scissor lifts and cherry pickers
- Construction Skills Certification scheme (CSCS)
- St John's Ambulance 'First Aid at Work'
- Asbestos Awareness Trained
AK Shopfitting regards Health & Safety as a priority and is always seeking new ways to improve the safety of our staff, working conditions and project management. Our staff receive constant training and information from an independent Health and Safety Officer.
As a company, we ensure that we are constantly updated with all information relating to new Health and Safety legislation. All recommendations made by the Health & Safety Officer are immediately carried out.
